Early the next morning Robert and Michelle are woken, by the aroma of freshly made coffee. It is still dark, but they sense that there is somebody else with them in the cavern. Robert quickly reaches for his firearm and then he recognizes Clemmens. "Good morning Robert. You are getting careless. Why did you make that large fire in the cave's mouth? Last night it could be seen for miles."
"Good morning Clemmens. You gave us quite a fright. I thought that the other kopjes, would shield the fire from being seen." Clemmens leaves the cavern for a while in order for them to dress and they drink the hot coffee that he has made for them.
Michelle rustles up some breakfast while Robert packs their belonging back into the rucksacks and leaves the coins in his, as he doesn't want Michelle to carry the extra weight. Clemmens joins them and they eat in silence and then Robert asks Clemmens: "By this time I thought you would have been long gone?" "When I went to phone for help, I saw that iron bird in the sky."
By daylight the threesome decide to continue to the next farm, which lies on the other side of some more knolls in order to get to safety and to find some help. The helicopter approaches them at such a great speed, that they become aware of it's presence when it is to late to return to the cavern without being spotted.
The threesome fall to the ground like one man, when a machine?gun that is mounted in the chopper's door starts stuttering and bushes and branches flies into the air as if being cut by a gigantic sickle.
A second helicopter, a gun ship, flies over them and in the cabin Robert notices a big blonde man. "They've got two choppers! Come!" He shouts and they start running and have to hit the ground again.
The first helicopter nears them with its blades screaming against the air and the angry bullets, ricochets from the rocks around them.
Clemmens loads the RPG7V rocket launcher and pushes it in to Robert’s hands and then Clemmens starts running in the direction of the cavern trying to attract the helicopter's attention to him, but the helicopter nears Robert and Michelle and Robert can feel the fear paralysing him.
Michelle screams hysterical: "Robert! They are going to kill us!" Robert feels Michelle's body jerking next to him, where she is lying against him. Michelle's limp body lies next to his and blood is pouring out of her one side and just for a moment her eyes open. "I love you Robert,” she says and when her eyes close again, Robert feels as if something dies inside of him.
The helicopter changes direction when the gun ship starts firing at it, which gives Robert the opportunity to aim carefully with the RPG7V rocket launcher at the first chopper. The moment the rocket leaves Robert's launcher he shouts: "May you fry in hell!"
There is an enormous explosion when Robert's rocket hit the first helicopter and it falls to the ground in a ball of flames. Clemmens has reached the cavern when he fires at the gun ship with his AK 47.
The bullets fly of the armour of the gun ship and it makes a turn and Clemmens is already in the second chamber of the cavern, when the gun ship fires a rocket and the kopjes side explodes ceiling the cavern's southern entrance off.
